why is my s4 active turning off when the battery is full

samsung s4 shutsdown at random. Only turns back on when I plug it in to the charger

Welcome to Android Central! When it randomly shuts down and you turn it back on, is the battery still reporting as full, or has it dropped a lot? The battery might be failing, so it's worth trying a new one.
