Samsung Galaxy S3, unable to change notification tone

I've been having this problem for about a month now. About a month ago, my phone randomly decided to change my ringtone and notification tone by itself and I was unable to change it back to my preferred tones. Even the selection list for ringtones and notification tones had disappeared, leaving back only the default pre-installed tones in the lists.

My ringtone is now back to normal but not my notification tone, I'm still unable to change it. Can anybody help me? Will really appreciate it.

Welcome back! Were your custom tones stored on Internal Storage or the microSD card? If they're on the SD, try copying them to the Notifications directory on Internal Storage.
