Why is my Samsung S7 Oreo update taking so long?

[Android Central Question]

I proceeded with the update this morning at 7am and it has taken hours since. The phone is rather hot, and the only signs of life are a blue light in the top left corner and the 'Samsung' logo fading in and out on a black background on the screen. Am starting to get worried about this.....

Your phone is BOOTLOOPING! You will need to reflash Nougat or Marshmallow on it w/ Odin (very tedious process if you are not a tech nerd).
