Screen Rotation (Gyroscope and Accelerometer) not working

Hello,

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 I9500 and recently my screen rotation has stopped working. I realized after my SHealth stopped counting my steps.
After i restart the phone the sensors work and the screen rotates normally but after some time the phone sensors get stuck and the screen rotation as well as the gyroscope and accelerometer don't work.
I tried to enter *#0*# and while the sensors dont work, if i try to test the gyroscope it fails for a few times and after a few tries it might come back to be working for some time.

Could anyone help me with this please?
The phone is not rooted and it running on 4.4.2.

Same thing happened to mine right after S-Health update. I removed battery and rebooted. I also hard resetted the device by using the factory reset option. Still cant get the screen to rotate. My battery has also been running down more than normally due to a process call gsiff_daemon constantly running at 39% of battery. I researched that and saw it had something to do with they gyroscope. Hate that samsung pushed that S-Health update that caused this. Can't find a fix for it anywhere. Maddening

Exact same problem for me. "gsiff_daemon" stopped assaulting my battery, but I still dont have accelerometers or gyros. Have you found a solution?

Mine is doing the exact same thing. Started right after the SHealth update. I did a factor reset and it all worked for about a half hour and now nothing. Has anyone found a solution to this yet? I'm getting seriously frustrated as well!

Sorry to necro this - any solution? I just bought a phone on eBay, supposedly direct from T-Mobile, and the accelerometer and gyro aren't working. (all zeroes in *#0*# diagnostics).

Did you ever got overheating on your device (like more than 65°C)? It might have fried your sensors (Gyro, Accelerometer, Pedometer, etc)

So glad I stopped on this forum. NOW I know why my auto rotate stopped (most likely) is due to me updating my SHealth. I didn't even think twice about updating it but after that... it stopped counting my steps and my auto rotate stopped. So no one has found a solution here or somewhere else on the WWW? Help. puhlease*

I hate to mention the obvious but you can turn autorotate on and off in the Menu that drops down from the top of the screen! No one has mentioned checking this!

I would check with whoever is responsible for the SHealth app to see if they have a fix! They have to be aware of this problem!

Hello, I have a Tasen F1 phone with Android 4.4.2 version. I noticed that it does not respond to tilt when playing motion semsitive games like Temple Run, Zombie Highway, etc. Also, the screen rotation won't work. I think it's a gyroscope problem... and there are no settings for that on the device.
Please, what do I do?

I too had this problem after I installed s health I just uninstalled and rebooted and I went on this app called test your android and the sensors actually worked.
if s health came with your phone I recommend rooting as you can remove system apps. From my Galaxy S4 (i9505)
