Why is my smartphone charging slow(charging data cable vs USB data cable)?

smartphone charging slow(charging data cable vs USB data cable)

i have Samsung galaxy core I-8262. The charger out of the box is travel adapter and charging USB cable.
cable went bad and charging was slow. I ordered a USB Data cable for replacement but still charging is slow. I would like to know that "are the charging cable out of the box and simple data cable which can also charge the phone different? if yes how?"

What are you charging with USB connector. If so USB charging is much slower that A/C charging
