Why is my storage full when I have zero apps installed, 5-6 pics, and approximately 50 songs?

Android Central Question

My phone storage shows I've used 7.52 GB of my possible 8. I have a 32 bit SD card that is basically empty. Yet I can't install an app due to low storage space.
