Why is no charger included with new Pixel phones?

This is a real PITA. I'm pretty sure Samsungs still come with a charger.

The worst thing Google can do it try to copy apple. I still miss 3.5mm headphone jacks and micro USB card memory slots.
Samsung is ending the included chargers as well.

So what is the ideal "fast charger" that can be used to charge them most efficiently? Does it just need to be any generic 18W or higher charging block or does it need some special chip in it ? Or will I be forced to pay the $22 that I see Best Buy charges for the Google 30W one?

Well said Mustang, better than I was able to explain it. You're pretty handy Wish I was closer to you so I could have you replace the plastic intake manifold on my mustang. I'm at 80k miles and it's already cracked :-\

Not a big fan of plastic parts on top of hot engines :(
That's the way all cars are going plastic intakes for weight ,less expensive, less heat absorb.

Definitely I wouldn't mind

I think they should give the option at checkout maybe say hey for additional 15.00 we can include charger and cable with device or not interested skip it at check out .

They could also throw a discount coupon in the packaging for those who realize afterwards that their older tech doesn't do the job.

No, but they will sell you a 30w one at an inflated cost! They don't actually charge at 30w bythe the way, even though it was heavily implied in the marketing... But that isn't intentional false advertising, just a simple misunderstanding!

Oh, man! Yikes! So they do sell those chargers on their own? Some poor sap like me would fall for that and buy one, simply due to my desire to have my phone accessories work properly with my phone... Ugh!

Samsung was first to follow Apple, I might be wrong but I think the Note 20 was the last flagship to include a charger.

Found a 20W PD Anker charging block on sale so I snagged one for my home charging needs.
