Why is random "X" appearing in Nova Launcher Screen on S5?

Hello,

I've been using Nova Prime since getting my S5, and I love it. I keep getting a random "x" at the top of each Nova screen. It's not a button, it just appears and doesn't go away until I reboot.

Happening to anyone else? See attached screenshots.

delete the widget where the X is and recreate it.

There is no widget there. It shows up on each of my home panels in the exact same spot.

How about on another screen? I deleted an old icon and my x went away. Mine was showing a little Android robot, deleted it and problem solved.

a corrupted widget or icon somewhere is causing the X. you must find it and delete it. either that or start fresh.

Any way to pin point it to a certain icon, or is it a guessing game?

Looks to me like the "x" you see when you long hold an icon just prior to getting rid of it from that screen. Is there an app that you recently deleted that didn't completely delete maybe? Try deleting another app from one of your home screens and drag it up there to the "x" and see if it goes away.

Best way is to open another new window, and move icons/widgets to it till it goes away. Then again is on all your screens, so it may be a theme or setting malfunction. Let us know what you find out.

I had this going on with my S5 running the free version.

I uninstalled Nova Launcher and reinstalled and it cured the problem.

Hello. I actually ran into this problem last week. My solution is to long press an icon as if you were going to move or delete it, then let go of the icon. The X should disappear. Let me know if it works for you too.

Nova does this on my GS4. The way i have gotten it to go away is Nova settings/Advanced at the bottom of the screen and restart Nova Launcher. The X is what shows up when removing a icon or widget.

I noticed that if I Long Press in the screen anywhere, it will go away.
I quit worrying about it after that.

I quit worrying about it after that.

Same here, long pressing on any icon clears the problem.

Just hold down an app/widget like you were going to delete it, move it around a little, then put the app/widget back. It should make the X go away, I had this problem too
