Why is S8 not saving screenshots to camera roll after Pie update?

I have a Samsung S8 and updated to Pie tonight. My screenshots are no longer saving to my camera roll as they did before the update, and I can't workout how to change this. They're in the Gallery app, are still backing up automatically to google photos, and can be viewed in the images folder under the Samsung Files app, but I would like them in my camera roll for ease of use. Does anyone know how to fix this?

The only way would be to rewrite Android. Where screenshots are saved is hard-wired, it's not a user choice.

Welcome to Android Central! As far as I can remember, screenshots get saved to the /Pictures/Screenshots directory. Are you saying that you've seen them saved to the /DCIM/Camera directory in the past?

Prior to the update, all of my screenshots were placed in my camera roll (as well as the other locations I mentioned), so that when I opened the camera and then opened the images from within the app, it was a mix of screen shots, photos and videos. Now it's just photos and videos and I have to go to the Gallery app or in to the Samsung Files app to view them, or to Google photos where they're still being backed up.

Oh I see -- you're relying on the gallery that comes up from within the Camera app? I'm not sure if I have any helpful suggestions then -- personally, I rarely use the Camera's gallery shortcut unless I want to review pics I just took (rather than other images like screenshots). Yes, that's exactly it. I'm often flicking through my camera roll and I screenshot things as a reminder, so spot them as I'm flicking through and remember what I was going to check out or do. Having to remember to go to a separate app for them kind of defeats the purpose lol. Thanks for replying even though you don't have a solution.
