The resolution is set at 3264 x 2448 (superfine), but when I go to the details of a photo I've taken, the size is around 1.7MB. Based on the resolution is should be around 8MB. I don't get it.
My 12 mega pixel DSLR produces about 5 meg in super fine JPGs.
an 8 mega pixel JPG in a DSLR could be about 3 to 4 meg in size.
although 1.7 is small, I rather have it small than large on a camera. one reason for smaller JPG footprint would be lack of detail, dynamic range and overall information per image stored on a file from a camera phone.
