Why is spell check so bad?

I have upgraded from S8 to S10. The spell check on the S8 worked fine and suggested the right words. The S10 however is horrendous. It only suggests words starting with the first letter so if that is wrong then its useless and even when its not the first letter thats wrong its still useless for example if you type "teft" test isnt even a suggestion yet it used to be on my S8. Wish i never upgraded! Anyone know how i can improve the spell check? Or if there is an alternative keyboard that works with samsung themes?

i think it's the built in samsung keyboard - the autocorrect is crap, especially infuriating when you're trying to type currency (i.e. $20), and it starts changing it to something stupid like "$to". google keyboard is miles better - that's what i used to have on my galaxy s8, and i think i'm going to switch back to it on my s10

About the only native app I tend to use (and then not always) is the dialer. Keyboard, map, contacts, weather, texting...are all replaced with much better 3rd party alternatives. I use Gboard. No problems.

It takes awhile to learn your usuage no question and words and corrections

I find Samsung's keyboard to be good for the most part, but I too have switched back to SwiftKey and I find that its prediction and spelling corrections are more apt than Samsung's.

agreed... swiftkey has learned so much it can complete entire sentences for me now !:D
also the customizing is really good too.

The reason I stick with the Samsung keyboard is for the built-in features like stickers and YouTube search, clipboard, Samsung pass etc. Otherwise SwiftKey was quite nice.

Yes! SwiftKey is very intuitive. And I too love the theme customization! I had my cat as my keyboard theme for a while.

I switch between the native Samsung keyboard, Gboard and SwiftKey. All work well for me, but I just get bored of one after a while and switch up.

I tried that this weekend, just out of curiosity. I found 2 issues with the Samsung keyboard. One is the prediction words are much slower to appear while typing, but the deal breaker was that the voice text input will not work without a data connection. Swiftkey works perfectly with no data connection at all.
