Why is swiping away notifications more difficult on Sammy phones?

I love my S8+, and am a general gadget nut, so I've had many different phones. I tend in the end to use the Samsung as my daily driver since the S6 Plus came out.

One thing that I've found is persistent across all of Samsung's phones is that swiping away notifications, of for that matter apps when in the multi-app view, requires several attempts before it works.

I haven't experienced this on any other phones I've used, which include the Pixel XL, LG V20, OnePlus 3t, Axon 7, and Huawei Mate 9. Any thoughts?

How are you swiping? I've never noticed any issues trying to swipe them away on mine... But I don't go all the way to the edges, just a quick flick.

I have experienced this too! Not alot but occasionally it might take a few attempts before its swiped away! I have always just assumed i didn't swipe properly though haha

I've tried multiple ways. My usual approach with other phones is swiping quickly from the edge. But I've tried from the middle too, and swiping more slowly. The slower action tends to work more reliably, but it is really slow.

Yeah, feels like that, but it doesn't happen in other areas of the UI. Any suggestions?

I've honestly never experienced that, and I've handled a lot of phones from different manufacturers.

Same. Not once have I ever experienced this "issue".

Not sure. I don't have the issue when dismissing the many email notifications I get.

I'll see if a screen recording can show it properly, Although the act of recording the screen would slow things down more.

Just to close the loop here. I switched back from Nova to stock launcher, and that fixed most of this. That's the first time in several years of Nova usage that I've seen it slowing anything down, so I'm reluctant to say this wasn't a coincidence. Other more likely possibilities:

An update to Bixby was pushed out, re-enabling it after I had disabled all things Bixby from Package Disabler Pro. I went back in and disabled all things Bixby.

No problems ever on any samsung I've owned.

See my response above. When I switched to stock launcher, the issue disappeared.
