Why is the microphone icon missing from my google keyboard so that I can speak my text messages?

I want to use my speak to text feature but the microphone icon is missing, I was able to use it a few weeks ago and now its disappeared, how can I fix this problem

none of the suggestion helped me, so what I did was the easiest thing, I uninstall the gboard, then I re installed the gboard and selected the gboard as keyboard, and the microphone was back on my key board. hope this helps.

If you have an old Android, 4.4, and an old Gboard. Press the "G" logo button you'll see the Microphone there, from "microphone search bar" types.

If it's a problem it's probably than the latest Gboard no longer works for your own old Android. And you're using and the native old Android GBoard, which doesn't have the latest update Gboard, where with the latest Gboard the microphone button shows up regardless if it's a "Microphone Search Bar" types. You won't notice that Gboard stopped updating if your old Android natively have Gboard installed until you get another Android device with the latest update. So be careful when uninstalling Gboard, it could be an even older Gboard running than the one you're using with the most current version Gboard you could get for your old Android.
