why is the V20's screen so dim and side viewing angle so bad, when compared to Samsung phones?

Obviously I don't have it in my hand and I'm just basing this on YouTube videos of V20 and S7 and iPhone 7 Plus side-by-side comparison. However, when the reviewer had all three phone on max brightness, the V20's screen looked noticeably dimmer. When she moved the shot from left to right, it was somewhat hard to read what's on the V20's screen when at a 30-degree angle.

What kind of screen does LG use in the V20? I know it's not AMOLED like the Samsung phones, but even the non-AMOLED iPhone 7 Plus was brighter and less prone to the side viewing angle problems.... :(

IPS LED. I'm pretty sure it's just the nature of the beast. Probably the biggest downfall for the v20 or any LG for that matter.

Some videos of the v20 doesn't do the screen any justice. You would have to do a comparison in person and trust me the screen is gorgeous and the viewing angles are great. I'll try to upload a pic of my wife's S7 edge screen on full bright next my V20.

Similar screen on the G5 and I have no viewing issues. While the Samsung is a colorful I prefer the natural look of LG screens.

The V20 has no viewing angle issue for normal usage angles. If for some reason are viewing in an oddly wide angle it is dimmer, but not exactly practical for personal device use. Seems a moot issue.

Also seems trivial compared to the curves that distort games, video, web, books, etc with the Note 7 and 7E displays. I do not miss the N7 curve.

I almost forgot how much screen real estate we lost with the curves.....the screen on the v20 looks much larger but it's the same 5.7 inches

Excuse the bad quality pics lol. I took them with my Daughter's 2 mp camera on her kindle fire ( I'm buying a DSLR in the near future lol) . The first three pics I took with manual brightness cranked all the way up and look how much dim the 7 edge screen is compared to the V20. The next two pics i put the V20 flashlight on the 7 edge light sensor and it got brighter! both look about the same but the V20 is a hair brighter. I wish i still had the grenade 7 because the 7 edge and V20 were brighter than the N7 when compared side by side.
