Why is the Bluetooth So bad on Samsung Phones?

I thought I was going crazy. I had a pair of Bose Quietcomfort 35 and they kept cutting out every time I put my phone in my pocket and would bend over (cutting lawn). I tried so many things in an attempt to fix this but nothing worked. I've had this issue with my 9+ . I now have the 10+ so figure that rules out the phone. I then went ahead and got the newer Bose Quietcomfort 35 II to help rule out the headset and guess what ? Still the same issue. FML.

It's not the Samsung phone issue. The Galaxy Buds are the problem and that cut out, is a common issue with them. I use my Beats and they work fine cutting the yard and all. The buds would cut out with my other devices too, s9 plus, iphone xs max, iPad, Surface Pro 6, etc.

I have not had problems with Samsung phones most of the time. I've had one or two updates over the years that have broken Bluetooth, but its maybe happened twice in 6 years. I had major issues with Bluetooth on my iPhone XS Max with non Apple devices.

You missed the point. I said it would screw up SOMETHING not always bluetooth. If that something is not a feature you use then as I said you love your update. Read update threads. They all have complaints of some common problem.

The OP's thread is about Bluetooth....hence my response about Bluetooth. Having said that I'll address your issue. I haven't had updates screw up anything I can remember that impacted me except on Beta versions.

I haven't tried BT on my S10+ yet but I've been using my Note 9 on my car on BT and tried to make a call Thursday. The other person couldn't hear me and then I noticed the BT disconnected and the audio was now going through the phone. I picked up the phone and after a few seconds, the cars BT reconnected.

For several years, I always brought an iPhone to use for music and calls through BT in the car and kept my Android in my pocket and I never had any BT problems on the iPhone no matter what version it was on.

I had similar issues with my S8+ (Oreo) when using an LG810 headset and had hoped my S10+ would be better. Short answer is NO. I have the very same issues with the LG headset and the Galaxy Buds as you describe. Putting the phone in my pocket or even clipped onto my belt doesn't keep a solid connection if I turn my head or happen to get my arms or shoulder between a direct line of sight path only 2 feet away. I'm guessing the Samsung BT radio is very weak.

I have no issues with Bluetooth on my S10+. I use headphones I got from Amazon at the gym and when doing yard work and to my car when I'm driving. No issues and the phone is always in my pocket. I don't notice any difference between this phone and my S9+, S8+, S7 Edge, S6 etc..

I am amazed how bad the Bluetooth on Samsung phones are.

I have the S10+, my wife has the S9+.

I have had nothing but issues with the Galaxy buds cutting out when phone is in my pocket.
It also happens when I connect to a Bluetooth speaker.

This last week, i bought a simple little speaker to use round the pool whilst on holiday.
It connected no problem at all, but when i played Spotify, tunein or anything, it sounded like the speaker had popped.

I thought it was faulty but when it says "Hello Pairing" or "Goodbye" when turned on and off, it sounds fine.
So I tried my wife's S9+ and exactly the same issue.

I then tried my Daughter's IPhone 6 and boom, no issue whatsoever, played as it should.

There is something wrong with how Samsung do their Bluetooth because this is ridiculous.

If it were just my phone I would say my S10 was faulty, but as it's multiple devices, it has to be something within the build of the Galaxy phones.

Any ideas please

Regards

Paul

Its wierd many people are complaing about the bluetooth or galaxy buds.i have no issues at all.works flawlessly even with the phone in my pocket.can you see where was your Buds made in?

Bluetooth on my s10+ and cordless Jabra Elite 65 earbuds also have poor quality connections if I do simple things - like walk the dogs with the phone in a pocket.

Periodic skips and popping happens every 3-4 minutes. Just enough to constantly remind you of the problem.

The thing is, it's not just the Buds. I thought it was when i first noticed the issue but it is widespread amongst my Bluetooth devices

Didn't read everything here but in Developer Settings there are a number of different Bluetooth settings that can be adjusted. I know it has helped many on different forums with different phones. YMMV

Yep Android bluetooth has always been bad on any phone I've ever used it on.... so it appears that Google can't seem to do much to make it better. Either they suck at bluetooth or bluetooth just plain sucks lol.

I've actually had no problems with Bluetooth on any of my recent Android phones (all Pixels). The Bluetooth problems I've encountered are on my Chromebooks -- Chrome OS has been known to have wonky Bluetooth for a while now.:-\
