LG G3 Auxiliary Cable Problem

When using my aux cable so I can listen to music in my car. I connect the cable to the headphone jack and then the aux input to my car. For some reason volume is so low compared to using my headphones connected to my G3. Has anyone else had this issue? An suggestions on how to fix this?

Re: LG G3 Auxiliary Cable Problem

Welcome to Android Central! Have you cranked the volume up on the phone all the way? The headphone jack is not a Line Out, so you can still control the volume using the phone.

Have you tried other aux cables? Do headphones still work normally in the phone?

Re: LG G3 Auxiliary Cable Problem

The G3 has a well documented issue with Aux out and some car stereos, in large part because LG distinguishes between headphones and line-out.

This cable: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0031U1ATQ...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU4022027

has been reported by a number of people to resolve the problem Rlx describes. Some people report having the phone plugged into a car charger while playing through the aux cable solves the problem, too. I don't know if either will resolve the OP's issue.

Thanks for that link! Would you happen to know the right page of that thread that describes the issue in more detail? It's currently 25 pages long, and I admit I'm too lazy to plow through all of them!:p

It's been a long time since I actually read through that, I'm afraid. But there are a couple of theories. The one that makes the most sense to me, since it only affects some audio systems, and even those work with some cables and don't work with others:

LG got fancy with the headphone circuitry on the G3. For some reason, they decided they needed to know whether what is plugged in are headphones or an aux cable. It appears they do this by measuring the impedance (more or less the same as resistance) of the connected device. If it thinks an aux cable is connected, it mutes the output until it detects there's a device on the other end.

The problem is that some audio systems do the same thing. So the G3 mutes the output waiting for a connected device, and the connected device essentially disconnects from the aux cable until it detects a source. That cable I linked to has a high enough impedance that it fools the phone into thinking it's connected to an audio device, unmuting the output. Interestingly, really cheap audio cables tend to have more resistance than high quality cables, and sometimes work where a good cable won't. I'm not sure why connecting the phone to a charge works for some people, but not others.

Re: LG G3 Auxiliary Cable Problem

I have a Moto E (4g LTE) 2015 model device and when I plugin my phone to my stereo the volume is pretty quiet.
I did turn up the volume all the way on my phone, and on my stereo, I tried different aux cables like 5 and even bought new ones which was a waste of money, I made sure the wires were all hooked up. I did everything in the forums please help.
