Why is there a small rectangle showing up on my status bar?

Hi,
I am not sure what happened but a month ago a random white rectangle popped on my status bar. I have checked nothing is open or turned on in my Quick settings panel.
I Hard reset the phone, it went away but came back in less then 24 hours.

Not sure what is going on :S ?? I have attached the screenshot of the status bar.
Please advise.

P.S. Battery drains out very fast not sure if this rectangle has anything to do with it as well ???

That looks like the portrait mode is enabled. You could try switching back to auto-rotate in your quick settings and see if that icon disappears.

thank you very much .. that fixed it .. but is there a way where I can keep it portrait and not see that icon or remove it :S? cuz I only use my phone in portrait unless taking a picture ....

Glad it helped! As far as I know there's not an easy way to remove that icon unless you use some module to custom the status bar. And even so, I'm not sure if that's even possible on the S6.

ah .. that is sad.. well thank you very much for this I was surprised as to what the hell was that.. lol...
anyhow this topic can be closed
I will open another on how to sim unlock and root the this particular phone and which rom would be best to put on this phone as it heats up way too fast and eats up battery like crazy even if I use navigation for 15mins... :S

Also my I have another s6 edge exactly same as mine but it does not show the Portrait Icon on status bar :S no idea why .. so there is an easy way to turn it off or on? :S
otherwise it should be showing the same icon n that phone too..
all the specs are exactly the same ... -- Just checked once I came home --
