Android Central Question

I have an old android phone I needed to do a factory reset on, after the factory reset the phone had me to do email verification, I knew the email I used and I changed the password seeing how it was a very long time since I logged in, but the verification took place though reluctantly the same "unknown error" message pops up as a previous client of yours. Why does the error message show up even when I know the email and password and type it in correctly?

I've always heard to not change your password before doing a factory reset. Your account got updated but not your phone so now your phone is expecting a specific password to be entered and Google knows you changed it.

Welcome to Android Central! You might have to wait up to 72 hours after changing your Google password before you can successfully log into that phone again. Since it's old, there might also be issues with the firmware being very much out of date, which might cause additional problems with the password change.
