AC Question

why is there no more face recognition to unlock the experia Z3 compat?

The face recognition was convenient for many people. It should come back. I'm disliking Sony slowly now.

Welcome to the forums. Face recognition is also one of the weaker forms of security. I will take a 4 digit PIN any day.

Face recognition is there, settings-security-smart unlock

I've never seen this feature and can't find it now in lollipop - despite looking where mentioned above.

I have a VPN thing installed which insists on security - but it greys out unsuitable options rather than hiding them.

I just stumbled across it on Lollipop, first you need to go to Security->Trust Agents and then enable "Smart Lock". Once you do that, go back to Security, and scroll up. You should now see Smart Lock. One of the options is "Trusted Face" (other options are trusted places, devices, voice, and "on-body detection").

I just joined this forum, after finding an answer to my question regarding why my face recognition was no longer available with the new lollipop update. I was able to restore that great feature, which I enjoyed very much. Thank You Android Central.!

Thanks Chris377 ! It was faded and I didnt even notice the darn thing ! Yipee no I am back to loving my Xperia T2 !

I take the yippee back ; I setup Trusted Face, says 'on' but still doesnt give me the option of using it under Choose Screen Lock (Which should actually read Choose Screen Unlock.) I have the Xperia T2. Why the heck is Sony messing around with Google utils ?
