Why isn't my camera flash working in selfie mode?

When I change the camera to

Camera flash will not work in "selfie" mode. The flash icon turns gray and shuts down. Works fine when taking other pics. Any ideas? Very frustrating. Thanks in advance

Uh, sorry Brenda (and welcome to the forums!) - there isn't a flash on the front-facing camera.

Are you sure u have Samsung Galaxy S3? It dont have front flash, maybe you are talking about a special app to take selfies and it doesnt support flash on rear camera?
