Why isn't my Galaxy S5 motion sensor working?

Galaxy S5 motion sensor not working

When I flip my galaxy s5 phone over to silence an incoming call, it no longer silences the ringtone. What can I do?

Welcome to Android Central! Have you already checked the Settings>Motions & Gestures>Mute/Pause​ menu? Make sure "Turning the device over" is checked on.

Yes. Settings>Motions & Gestures>Mute/Pause is "on". I tried turning it off, then powering down, powering up, turning it on, repeated the power down & up process. It still does not work.
