Re: why my Samsung Galaxy mega won't send picture messages
It depends on the carrier you're on - Straight Talk uses all 4 of them. (They're a network operator, not a carrier - the carriers are AT&T, Sprint, TMobile and Verizon.) You have to set the APN up correctly in the phone, and the APN settings depend on the carrier. If you're on AT&T, it's
Name straight talk
APN tfdata
Port 80
MMSC
http://mms-tf.net
MMS Proxy mms3.tracfone.com
MMS Port 80
If you're on TMobile (chances you ar, because MetroPCS uses TMobile's towers, so your phone is probably locked to TMobile), it's
Name straight talk
APN wap.tracfone
Proxy leave blank
Port 8080
MMSC
http://mms.tracfone.com
MMS Proxy leave blank
MMS Port leave blank
Also, once you have things set up right, you're limited to a total of about 1MB in all files attached to a message, including the message. If a file is larger than that, use email up to 25MB. Larger than that? Post the file on a site like Mega and text or mail the link to the person. If you want to text a bunch of files that add up to more than 1MB, but no one file is larger than 1MB, send them as a bunch of messages, with each message being no larger than 1MB.
