USB device not Recognized

Galaxy s5 and when I connect to the USB port I get the message "USB device not recognized by windows". I have checked the cable and seems to be working okay. I'm running Windows 10.

3 things you can try...

1. Install Samsung Smart Switch on your PC

2. Ensure you are using the original OEM cable that came with the phone and do not use a USB hub

3. Try different USB ports on your PC

Re: USB device not Recognized

After trying lots of things besides pulling my hair out, after reading another posting about the same problem, I restarted my Galaxy S4 while connected to the laptop, they started talking to each other again!! Woohoo!

Re: USB device not Recognized

Tried everything again and still can't connect with my pc. On the opening page, I click on Learn More and they have some troubleshooting things, but what the suggest does not appear on my phone. They say to open the Notifications tab and on Connected as a media device pick Media. That does not appear on my phone and then of the phone does not support Media Transfer, tap Camera PTP. Does not appear on the phone. Apparently this model does not support any USB. I only wanted to be able to connect to my pc and look at the storage card and see what Pictures were on it, but apparently I can't do that, unless there is something I am missing.
