Why isn't my wallpaper changing every 5 minutes like its supposed to?

I recently bought a Huawei P10 Plus and it's great. But the Wallpaper has a setting where you can have it shuffle through an album of images every 5, 15, 30 or 60 minutes. I've set mine to every 5 minutes but it's not changing at all.

Has anyone had this issue? Can anyone tell me if it's a glitch or if it was aspirational but doesn't actually work?

Is that function native to the P10, or part of a third-party launcher / wallpaper app?
