Why isn't the equalizer in my music app responding?

equaliser in music app not responding

after upgrading my Samsung S4 OS from kit-kat to lollipop, equaliser in the Music App is not responding. The sound output is always flat whether you select say pop, jazz, rock, etc

I have the same issue. After my recent lollipop update (5.0.1), the equalizer in the default music app won't change the sound output when the presets are selected. The sound remains the same (flat).
