Why "month-in-advance" charges?

Lowest doesn't matter if it isn't actuate
I've come to the conclusion I'm better off waiting for the official bill and then try to figure out the justifications from it rather than rely on a rep's guesstimate. Lol

OP... I went through the same issue yesterday with VZ. Changed the plan, because of a screw up ON THEIR END, and got the email that said 'no surprises' and sure enough, next month's and this month's Bill both jumped ENORMOUSLY.

I've been with them fifteen plus years, formerly with UDP and I got a supervisor on the phone, better than the first supervisor who messed things up, and received three new emails, each one with the prices dropping on both bills, current and next month's. They kicked in some good credits... to make up for the time I spent with them on the phone.

Honestly, I'm ready to jump to T Mobile and their $70.00 all inclusive of taxes, unlimited plan, coming out today. I'm hesitant due to the problems T Mobile has been having in Denver and the sparse rural coverage.

Verizon upon hearing I've had enough of their b.s. came back to me with 7GB carryover for $50.00 a plan that has not been announced yet. That's going into effect on my account next month. I've got four channel high speed wifi at the house/office.

You've got to fight VZ at every turn and I told them to cut out the crap with the Nickel and diming... or I'm gone.

Make sure you're reading the fine print if you plan to jump, because they have their own tricks to pull. I saw one of their commercials recently advertising a free phone*, with the asterisk "With 2 year lease agreement." Last time I checked, paying a monthly fee for a phone doesn't equal free. Lol

Yeah i would just wait for the bill. I have been given inaccurate information by reps but my bill was correct so whatever. No point in arguing and getting my blood pressure up over nothing.

In my experience, those e-mails stating what my new bill would be were wrong many times. But my bill has been right the vast majority of the time

The problem I had was that once an incorrect bill was printed and mailed, they refuse to send a corrected bill to actually look at. So, in every subsequent conversation with four reps, I had no choice but fly blind and trust or doubt their ever changing word.

Interestingly, among the four, I had some very different people. Some very confident and making the changes on their own, others that would have to put me on hold multiple times to consult a supervisor about every step. The last couple were weirdly, nauseatingly, sugary sweet and overly solicitous, to the point of it feeling ridiculous. I wonder if it's some new VZW policy for their phone reps.

When I signed up for the new Unlimited plan, I asked that it be backdated to the beginning of my current billing cycle. The estimates for my next bill show credits for the amounts prepaid on the old rate plan, and charges for the new rate plan. Unless their billing system messes up, it should all balance out. I had the same experience with my Comcast cable bill.
