why moto g4 xt1625 has two sim slots when we can use only one

i m using moto g4 xt1625 yesterday i tried to replace my battery n i saw there was another sim slot in mother board . but there is only one option in board cover. so can i use another sim slot ? if yes then how??

Does it have connectors in the second SIM slot? If not then you won't be able to use a second SIM because the hardware is not available, only the slot itself in the casing.

Please note double SIM versions are available of the Moto G4 (Plus), I have one for example.

I believe you got a double SIM version by default if you ordered via the Moto Maker site.
