Are you using any theme from Galaxy Apps? If so, there might be an icon pack changing them on your app list. If you go to the Application Manager and you find the app that you installed, does it have the same icon as the Play Store?

Well, maybe the icon isn't really updated? Or try uninstalling-reinstalling? I really don't know why an icon wouldn't change unless it's themed, but the App manager should show the un-themed one,and that's part of the app, so...

I don't think it's your phone. Tell you what. Give me an example of a couple apps that you're not seeing the right icon. I'll install on mine (if I don't have them already) and report back with how they look.

Well, since I don't remember when/if the icon changed or what it looked like before, that doesn't help much. So here's how it looks on mine (App Manager). It seems to match the Play Store's.

Huh... which icon do you see on the playstore? The one I see for Whatsapp is the same I have on my phone. Are you looking at the Play Store on the web or on your phone (not that it should make a difference, though...)

Well, I just tried it and yup, Kik installs with the white background and green text icon while the Play Store (both on the phone and on the web) shows the green background with white text. BUT if you see the screenshots from the Play Store, the Kik logo is green text, so maybe Kik updated the image on the Play Store but not the actual app icon. Since the Play Store's background is white, maybe they wanted to define their icon there more and chose to go for the green background instead.
