Why my password doesn't work with the latest android update?

I updated my note 5 software this evening. Now my password (swipe) does not work. Looking for some help. I am currently locked out.

Welcome to Android Central! What do you mean by password (swipe)? Does the phone tell you your password is incorrect? Does it not let you type in the password at all? What happens if you fail the unlock enough times--does it ask for your Google account information?

I have this issue. Updated my note 5 to latest update and now my unlock pattern wont work. my backup code does not work either, and i dont get an option to log in with google.

Can anyone help?

I have similar problem. Lock screen has password that I have always used. It started tuesday night telling me "incorrect password entered" continuously try to put the correct password in and makes me wait 30 seconds after every 5 attempts. passowrd was never changed but it never lets me in. some things that are important are not backed up and i want to avoid a factory reset. how do i bypass the password screen? Also never asks me for my google account information. please help!!!!!!!!

Did you try clearing the Cache? Did you do a Factory Reset?
