Why no OTA update yet?

Why haven't we received any OTA updates yet? This is one of Sprint's flagship devices, and there are obviously some bugs. It's been well over a month, and still no OTA. Hadn't the EVO 3d received at least a small bugfix at this point in its lifetime?

Maybe because everyone knows that htc responded to AC concerning some of the so called bugs,ie (multitasking) only to be told that it was per design, so there will be no OTA because there's nothing to fix.

Oh, there's plenty to fix. Maybe not the multi-tasking, but one of the biggest pet peeves I have is the font size in the Messages app constantly fluctuates from barely visible to abnormally large. I know it's probably in turn to me pinching and zooming in and out, and it resetting back to "normal" on its own and my pinching still being in affect, but its very annoying.

On top of the radio.signal issues, Google Wallet issues, etc.

Those may not necessarily be HTC's responsibility, but I agree that an OTA needs to happen quite soon.

To be honest, I check quite routinely for one.

If your on this website and roitinley as you check for updates you might as well not.

This website will inform you long before you actually get the update. Lol. Or the actual update is even released.

I know. Just hoping maybe I'll catch one before it's posted so I can share the love :)

That's one of the reasons why I bolted from the E4GLTE. After 2 weeks of problems with not even an acknowledgement of said problems by HTC and Sprint. I knew this wasn't gonna happen before I got out of my contract. So I said by to a phone I really wanted to love.

I don't see any of these bugs as a "deal breaker".

Yes, the multi tasking issue sucks, but that's Sense 4, not the phone itself. The One line has the same problems.

Even the problems I mentioned aren't enough to make me jump ship.

A month an a half later I still love this phone as much as I did the first time I laid eyes on it.

Dat screeeeeeen..

Aren't there any ROMs to give us best of the different worlds without needing to depend on Sprint and HTC ? I know I have the wallet issue stopping me from jumping at this time (i.e., I can't clear my Wallet credentials because app won;t even launch)

I'm honestly not even referring to the multitasking (which I believe will be at least partly remedied in the future).

you know there's pinch to change text size in the message app right?

Sent from my Evo LTE using 3g...because Sprint needs to get their collective asses in gear

Signal issues normally comes down to hardware.... Sure there are sometimes a little tweaking they can do with software in the way of a new modem/radio firmware but that is usually just a bandaid for a hardware problem in the first place.

Next you have to think carrier here... Carriers like Sprint & Verizon have always been known for taking a little longer on updates/fixes due to their extended testing of software updates/patches before letting them go public.

The EVO 4G LTE does not have a radio signal reception problem. It has an 'interfacing with Sprint's overloaded 3G network' problem. IE its much more likely software, either on the phone or in the network infrastructure or both.

Really the only bugs i have are the text size changing constantly which doesn't bug me all too much, its just weird.

Multi-tasking i'd like to see at the very least a fix for the sense reloads, otherwise my use case the save state multitasking doesn't annoy me really. Maybe a few times with pandora.

Otherwise my signal has been great, wifi is stronger than my two previous phones and battery live is great.

There is a glitch in changing font sizes in messaging. I've changed it but it continually reverts to other settings. No deal breaker but an annoyance.

the fluctuation of the font size in messaging I noticed has to deal with how you opened that said text message. If you opened it from the notification bar or from the lock screen it'll go to its smallest size and like most people they will pinch zoom to adjust it. Then if you access your text messages from one of the home screens it'll be abnormally large because of your pinch zoom that you did previously. I tried to pinpoint it, but I believe if you get the smallest text size out of nowhere just go back and access the message app from the homescreen and see if it goes back to the size you had it. Yes you can just access the size of it within Menu of the said app, but there is different levels of sizes besides small, medium, large extra large.

Multitasking isn't broken, its just different it'll be modified eventually, come down folk
