why no sounds for notifications etc after update on s7 edge

After android update my notification sounds no longer work

Welcome to Android Central! Are you talking about the preinstalled tones, or custom tones?

Maybe it was turned off. Go to sounds and turn the volume up on notifications.

My wife's phone is doing the same thing. Tried different ringers, volume is all the way up on system and notifications.

Go to >Settings >Applications >Messages >Notifications
Make sure the SHOW SILENT is turned OFF.
Fixes the issue.
