My phone goes through long periods in which the battery drains very rapidly with no obvious explanation, or certainly none that either Battery Mix or Gsam can provide.
Looking at the stats in Battery Mix, there is usually no application over-using the CPU during the periods of intense battery drain. Meanwhile Gsam usually tells me that nearly all the battery usage on the phone has been due to applications. Very often the applications using the most battery turn out to be the Android System and the kernel, which Battery Mix doesn't provide statistics on, but even so, arithmetically this can't explain all the battery drain.
I thought for a while yesterday that the problem might have been connected to wifi and the app that connects me automatically to my ISP's hotspots. I disabled wifi and the battery stopped draining for a while, but then it started again even though wifi was still switched off. So I'm completely at a loss. Can anyone help me get a handle on this? Thanks.
