Poll: Do You Dislike LG?

Let's be fair....you cherry picked that ONE benchmark. The iPhone 5 still performs better in most others. Of course, using benchmarks to compare devices running different software is foolish anyway. :-)

Haha, yeah I know. I didn't mean to seam bias (edited original post.) But still, it is very impressive. As the Ax series of processors have been far and away faster (at least gpu wise) than a comparable processor on the Android platform. Keep in mind that those benchmarks were from an Optimus G running on ICS. With Jellybean, the Optimus should perform measurably better.

What I didnt like was the 8GB or 16GB of storage with no sd card. Agree about the storage and games. 16GB might the the bare minimum now a days as apps get bigger. I have 3 music folders for listening to mp3's, kinda on the small side. I have some pics on my camera. I use Spotify and Google Music that I think uses a cache....and I have got the low storage warning a few times lately on my RAZR.

I have no experience with LG phones.....I just dont like the storage specs with no sd card.

I like their TV's, screens. AC's kinda...lol. I also hear bad things....but I hear that with just about any phone. I am a big Motorola fan, so I take the bad things I hear with a grain of salt.

I've only had bad experiences with LG hardware. I'm in a position to use some LG devices. No premium ones, but enough to make a fair assessment. I am pretty picky about what hardware I choose. I'd like to see what LG can do with a Nexus device.

I don't want an LG because:
_ The resale value sucks.
_ The company sucks in general. They have broken their promises so many times that virtually almost all LG owners hate them and put them on the black list to ever consider their phone again. I am also an ex-LG Optimus 2X owner so I took this bad experience personally as well.
No, I will not give these fools another chance. Enough is enough. Trick me once, shame on you, trick me twice, shame on me.
I would just get an Galaxy Note II and skip the next Nexus. I would rather buy a non-Nexus device than to give LG my hard-earned money.

BiDuSoft I agree and disagree.

The O2X has made me not want another LG phone.

As I'm the UK here is a comparison. Expansys are selling both the LG Optimus 4X and the GNex at ?299.99. On paper the O4X wallops the GNex. Better battery, camera, processor, ram. Would I buy it? Hell to the no!!! Would be the GNex every time.

Not because the hardware though, the software and support.is the key thing.

So if Google retain that side on this Nexus, then I am willing to (funds allowing) purchase this phone. LG do make decent handsets, they just know nothing about support, keeping promises and designing a good android experience.

Some people don't seem to understand how the Nexus program works. Google (not the OEM) controls the software, and there are no proprietary drivers. Everything is open. So LG's software history and update history is completely irrelevant.

Also it's funny to see how much has changed in less than 2 years. Back then people were slamming Samsung for their poor build quality. Now they have (apparently) become the standard that allow other OEMs must strive to meet.

This is all comedy. I'm reserving my opinion until we actually get to see one.

I understand how the Nexus program works. Let me point something out that will help make my point clearer.

The current standing rumors are that there is a shift in how the Nexus program works and that the major OEMs will each come out with their own Nexus-certified phone. Nexus-certified being the keyword because it is now Google's blessing on the OEMs work, not their own doing.

What bothers me even more is that the leaked LG Nexus photos show on the back cover "with Google" unlike any previous Nexus device ever released. You know what else said "with Google" on the back cover. My G2x. And the G2x with its "stock experience" was all a sham. It was a stock skin on top of a crappy port on top of LG's piss-poor translation of Android on their hardware. That is why I'm perturbed; because I have a reason to still be skeptical of LG's ability to deliver a Nexus-worthy phone.

I understand it's a prototype, but the proof is building and it's not looking good based on my anecdotal experience.

To me the fact that the G2X had "with Google" on the back says that LG still had that stencil lying around, so they could easily have put it on the back of these prototypes while they're waiting for the NEXUS logo to be finalized.

Don't be ridiculous guys. If your going to hate lg for slow or lack thereof updates than hate every manufacturer. It really doesn't matter who makes the nexus imo. Build quality is always solid and Google handles updates. Like I said earlier, other than storage there is nothing wrong with the lg phone floating around.

Kind of just realized how similar to the One X the new Nexus is, lol.

S4 Snapdragon, 4.7 IPS, No SD card, non-removable battery, lmfao.

Not really relevant but just a small comparison.

Pros- Running stock Android, updates will come.

Cons- Made by LG. 16GB storage. camera.

Yeah Gnex as my messing around/backup phone and HTC One X+ 64GB running CM10.

One major PRO that people keep missing is that it'll come in at a reasonable price off contract. Some of us will be making that move for the first time with this phone.

Nah look what they did with the Nexus 7. I'd bet that the 8 GB is somewhere between $250-$350.
But with the beastly specs on this? An unlocked S3 is about 650, an unlocked One X is about 600 also. Noway can this possibly be sold without a profit LOSS for under 450.

We know Google will take some kind of a loss and judging by the reactions here lg (fairly or unfairly) needs to win back some good will so they'll take a loss as well. Maybe not a huge one but still.

$399 sucks. I'd rather have a phone that was a bit less fancy and reasonably priced than an overkill model with no storage that costs a mint. I mean if it had 16 gigs of storage or more then the price isn't bad. But 8 gigs is useless.

I was really hoping Google would keep the new nexus at $350 and give the best possible hardware they could get at that price. Who knows though, no one knew how much the nexus 7 was going to cost or how much storage it was going to have till the release date. I'd gladly pay $399 for a 32 gig model

And no don't get me wrong the hardware is great at that price point but still its useless with so little storage. It's like building a bad ass gaming pc then throwing in a 100 gig hard drive

You are basing this off of android and me? I'll wait for a more reliable source.

I guess it just doesn't bother me as much since I don't play HUGE games or watch too many movies on my phone. That's what my tablet is for.
