I posted earlier about attempting the auto root. I thought everything went well after the process until i tried downloading my apps from the market. I keep getting the error "download was unsuccessful" i am able to download and install directly from the internet and also using applanet however i still cant use the market. i flashed to different roms and kernels and still nothing. I have cleared cache and data for both market and download manager. i have restored factory settings twice. i am about to throw this damn phone out the window any minute now if i cant get someone to help.

did you untinstall updates. it maybe your google account i forgot but someone had the same problem i dont remember but someone said you could logon online and reset it or somthing like that

try and clear data in google services framework then reboot

and I hope you've been wiping data/caches each time between flashing to different roms/kernels

After completing the autoroot, and downloading rom manager, i have been wiping the data/caches prior to flashing new roms. i am very computer literate and pay very close attention to detail. i am clueless at this point. i tried clearing data in google services. still no cigar.

Sounds like a odd issue. Without being able to trouble shoot in person it'd probably be easier to just unroot and reroot.

I found this thread, it has an embedded video on the 2nd page. *Edit* (The video no longer works, the thread is still useful though)

Simi Automatic Root for Thunderbolt - Page 2 - Droid Forum - Verizon Droid & the Motorola Droid Forum
I hope this helps, I personally prefer to do the long root method myself.
As a side note I do not have a Thunderbolt, but I really love them!!!

my auto root is the same as the longroot way just automated. and i streamlined it a bit more

so i went back to the link that points to the different sites to download the autoroot again. i downloaded it from a different mirror this time and noticed that the one i just downloaded has files with different dates than the one i originally downloaded. i just thought that to be strange.

give me the link,,, the most upto date method should be mine as i did it yesterday afternoon

It was the same for me when I rooted my OG Droid. I had downloaded the update.zip file to boot from, the first one did not work, I erased it and just chose a different mirror. It worked fine after that.

i had clicked on the spinning gold link from your thread and then one of the mirrors. not sure which one but the pg05img file had a date of 4/10/11. So i am using the one with the date 4/23/11.
aslo
i was able to download from the market after unroot, so i am about to give it a go again. One more thing, just to be clear, i shouldnt have to clear any cache or wipe data prior to starting the auto root right?
