Why will my tablet not let me put swipe as my lock screen?

What OS is it running?

Are you able to access the lock screen settings at all, or are you just not able to set the pattern lock?

What is the current lock type?

Is it a company or school issued device?

Do you have a work/company email or software on the tablet?

If this is a tablet you bought yourself for personal use at home you should have administrator rights on it.
