Unable to share photos from Amazon photos to any messaging app such as WhatsApp or Android Messages. I keep receiving "Messages failed to load attachment" or something similar on WhatsApp. I've checked app permissions and there is nothing prohibiting any of the apps from being able to share the pictures.

I moved this from the Android Apps forum to the General Help forum since the former is intended for developers to promote their apps.

You might need to make sure those photos are downloaded to your phone (and not in the Amazon Photos cloud) to make sure they're accessible.

You have permission on for storage for Amazon photos

It's you again! Thanks for making life easier for me! Side note, RCS is finally working if I haven't already told you. Anyways, there are no permission restrictions with Amazon Photos. At all.

That's another issue in and of itself; if i download the photos, they never appear anywhere on my Pixel 4. Not in the files, not in Photos, not anywhere.

That is a really weird problem. I use Amazon photos. I will install it on my pixel 2xl and see what happens. Although that phone is on Android 11 beta. But should be the same principle.

Lol yeah I'm everywhere
Glad to hear the message rcs working

Now for the current situation , try resetting this app by clearing its data, cache, force stop it

I have the same issue on my 2xl. However when I download it the picture goes into a folder called Pictures. If you click on library in Photos app and go to photos on device there will be a folder called pictures and it downloads to there. So check and see. As for the problem sharing, looks like it is a problem to do with the amazon photos app.

Edit. Just tried again and it did attach to my phone as an mms on one sim and as rcs on the other. It seems to have corrected itself. So try what Mustang says and see if that helps.

Tried all those things and it didn't work. WhatsApp says it doesn't support that file format.

I just tested it on my Pixel C. When I download a photo from the Amazon Photos cloud, it shows up in the /Pictures directory. Use a file manager app to look in that specific directory and see if it's there.

That works. Thanks for sharing. But still kind of a pain with not being able to share.

It probably has to do with how Amazon has coded the app. Send feedback to them about it.
