why won't my camera work

I try clicking on the camera and lights up around the camera icon but then it says preparing storage I try clicking on the camera and lights up around the camera icon but then it says preparing storage and the camera won't open it it takes me back to homepage I have cleared my cache and deleted all the photos in my gallery I really don't know what's going on can someone please help

Do you have an external SD card? If so, remove it. (Turn the phone off first.) SD cards have a habit of looping a file, and that can take an infinite amount of time (literally - until the heat death of the universe) for the phone to spin in circles. The only solution is to put the card into a PC, copy all the files you can get to, to the PC, then format the card. (And if it happens again, to get another, better quality, card. And to not move apps to the card - that could cause looping.)

If not, it could be a bad camera module or bad internal storage in the phone, either of which need a repair shop.
