Why won't my email push when connected to wifi (LG-G3)?

Email will not push when connected to wifi. LG-G3

The stock email program will not sync new messages unless I open the app. This only occurs on wifi. Works great on cellular data. Have checked all of the settings I can think of.

Sometimes this can depend on being on certain wifi ranges that is blocked by the server. Try another mail client like ours, MailDroid and see if you have the same issue or it is a stock client bug.

I googled something similar because I wasn't getting notifications on WiFi after getting lollipop. Its a known issue with the update that supposedly Verizon is working on.

A small fix is to go to settings, WiFi, advanced WiFi and shut off keep wifi on when screen is off. I now get all notifications.

Yes its an issue with lollipop, hopefully the next update to fix this gets pushed soon. It happens with most google apps and some other ones like bleacher report
