Android Central Question

I'm trying to connect my PS4 controller to my Android phone (Motorola Z4). At first I tried Bluetooth, but it was unusably laggy. So, after some research, I got a USB to USB-C adapter that plugs into the phone and connected that to the USB to micro-USB cable that plugs into the controller. Everything I found online suggests that this should start working immediately, but all it does is charge the controller. How can I fix this?

I've been pairing PS4s and even PS5 controllers on androids for a long time I don't have any issue with it I did have an issue with the PS5 on One of my phone maybe a Motorola stylus I think but on the other phones they were fine I currently use a PlayStation 4 style controller for my Galaxy tablet and my phone I don't have any issues with it. issues the tablet but not with the controller. Try using mantis gamepad and calibrating your controller through that and launching your games through it and see if it works cuz it makes you go through a whole little Wireless debugging and some more stuff so try that and see if that works
