Why won't my HTC Amaze/Ruby turn on after a failed hard reset?

HTC Amaze/Ruby won't turn on after a failed hard reset?

I tried to factory reset (hard reset) my HTC amaze last night but it failed, so I tried a system wipe (cause it seemed like a good idea). When I hit reboot, it says

"No OS installed! Are you sure you wish to reboot?"

I rebooted it but now when it turns on, it just stays on the HTC loading screen.

I tried to find a Gingerbread file to download. But when I tried to install it, it failed too.

Anyone have any ideas?

**EDIT: my phone was previously rooted. I don't care if it stays rooted or if the reset gets rid of the root!

Welcome to Android Central! How did you do the system wipe? It sounds like you might have wiped out the OS in the process.

Yeah, I think that's exactly what I did!

I held the volume down & power button and went to factory reset. And it failed, so I tried system wipe.
I should have gone into my settings to try the reset maybe :/
