Why won't my HTC Desire phone sync contacts with Facebook?

my htc desire phone wont sync contacts with facebook.

every time i click on authorize htc to access facebook nothing happens. i have reinstalled the app rebooted the phone ahd still nothing.

Welcome to Android Central! Not all devices allow syncing Facebook contacts to the phone's Contacts app. Do you know for sure that your phone is supposed to do this?
