why wont my keyboard display now?

i have an LG G2 its about a year old I love my lg phones. just today I tries to type a text and the keyboard didn't popup I can paste stuff but no typing at all. the touch screen still works perfect. tried updating my phone and turning it off and on.

Welcome to Android Central! Go to Settings>Language & Input, and make sure you have your preferred keyboard set as default. Then go to Settings>Apps>All, select that keyboard, and Clear Cache/Clear Data. Does it work now?

If not, are you able to install another keyboard like Google Keyboard or Swiftkey?
