Why won't my phone let me press the connect button after entering my password?

my Phone won't let me press the connect button after entering my password!

It will let me do everything except press the connect button. It won't light up.

Welcome to Android Central! Are you trying to connect to a wi-fi network? Are you sure you've entered enough characters? What device do you have? Do you have any screen-dimming apps installed? Some of those types of apps can also make certain onscreen buttons inactive, for unclear reasons.

You may want to turn it off and back on.
