Why won't my Samsung S8 recognize my notification sounds?

So I'm using the app ZEDGE to get ringtones to customize my contacts like I did when I had my S4. In the past I could download them to my phone and then choose to use them for each person in my Contacts. Now when I try, it doesn't show me all of the sounds that I downloaded in the list of sounds.
Is there a way I could custom select ones that aren't showing up so that they actually appear?

You can go into zedge and click my zedge, then my history, then click the ringtone then select set ringtone to contact or do what above said and save someplace else, mine saves in normal folder for some reason

@Paradroid01 When downloading the sounds from the app there is no option to choose where to save them. @njdan30 Choosing to Set Contact Ringtone works for their ringtone when they try calling, but I'm trying to set a notification sound for when I receive texts from my contacts. Unfortunately the only option (Set Notification) that they provide in the app sets the notification sound for everything instead of just for individual contacts.

Just downloaded a Zedge ringtone. It was a notification. After I saved it, I think I hit the square home button and it didn't show in the notifications. When I did it again I hit the left arrow at the bottom instead of the square button and it took. Good luck.

By moving to another folder doesn't mean saving directly to a particular place if the app don't allow, he/ she meant move it using a file manager app to desired folder either existing or self made. As far as setting individual sounds for individual contacts for text only I doubt you can with stock message app, but by chance you can then again simply move downloaded file to that folder

@jimbo1mcm I tried saving other notifications this time using the method you described and unfortunately it still didn't work. From what I understand, you mean that after downloading the notification sounds in the Zedge app, you pressed the back button in the bottom right corner of the phone and then went to apply the effects to your contacts, correct?
@njdan30 I tried downloading a file manager app in order to move the files around but as far as I can tell all of the sounds, both the ones that are showing up and the ones that aren't, are all in one folder called "notification_sound". The issue is confusing to me because I am able to download and assign some of the notification sounds to my contacts with no issues but with others they just don't show up in the list when I am choosing which sound to use.
