Why won't screen rotate upside diwn??

Hi all! When I drive I like to keep my phone in my cupholder. From that angle I can see it easily and access the phone for directions. In order for this to work while the phone is plugged in, the screen must rotate upside down. A week or two ago my S8 stopped rotating upside down and it is driving me crazy! Any suggestions?

I experienced this yesterday. Toggled off auto rotate. Cleared the cache partition and rebooted. Toggled on rotate and it does a 360, when wanted, 90 degrees at a time again.

Tried this, didnt work. Thanks for the suggestion though! This issue is so frustrating, I've had this problem on and off for years with android and it never fails to irritate.

Welcome to Android Central! Try using Android Auto instead when accessing your map in the car. That should auto-rotate when the phone is upside down.

I will try that, thanks! After I cleared the cache on my phone, spotify stops playing whenever my screen goes to sleep, any suggestions on that?

Make sure Spotify isn't Battery Optimized in the system settings.
