Not sure about the gmail app in the market, I used stock until I decided on K-9 mail and havent looked back...

I really like it..

I use the gmail app and it works perfect... what problems are you experiencing?

it wont even let me download it from the market place.... how did you download it? are you sure you are not just using the stock gmail app....

yea the stock gmail app is working ok for me but the new one they have in the market place is 10x better and it wont let me upgrade to it...

are you on 2.1 still? the newest gmail app only works with froyo I believe...

It seems the answer is that because Samsung/Verizon are behind the 8 ball on froyo is why you can't install a stock app. But that is a discussion for another tread

Should be able to push it manually using ADB I would guess. that's if you're running froyo of course.
