WI-FI Sleep?

I have my phone set to never have wi-fi sleep, but often when I hit the power button to turn the phone on it displays 3G connection and takes about 5-7 seconds for the wi-fi to turn back on and activate. Is this normal for everyone? Is there any fix for this? Any help appreciated. Thank you in advance.

it seems like a push service is causing the connection to be ready then until it wakes and back to wifi

I just disabled never auto turn on wifi. Maybe that will help. It might just be as simple as me being home, leaving, getting to the gym and the phone needing to awaken before recognizing another stored wifi. Same as coming back home from the gym.

Also, check your "Power Saver" settings; there is a setting in there that causes this to happen, as well.
