Widget Locker, Custom Roms, Custom Kernels

I use widget locker primarily because I like to put android photo widget with a picture of my schedule on the lock screen. I don't believe there is any way to have a 4 x 2 picture on the lockscreen in Sense 3 right?

Anyway, I've been having problems with screen lock up while tbolt is awake and I'm using it....like it could freeze right in the middle of this sentence. I would see the keyboard and text but screen would become totally unresponsive to touch. I might be able to back arrow to home screen but it would also be unresponsive to touch.

This problem is more frequent in custom roms (like I'm using 1.0.9 cubed now) and REALLY frequent with custom kernels no matter what I set the max and min speeds to.

Today I found an old post that suggests widget locker can cause problems in custom kernels like imo's or bamf.

Has anybody used a custom kernel successfully who also uses widget locker? Has anyone found deleting widget locker improves phone performance? No, I'd rather not just "delete the app and see." I LIKE widget locker....but if this is a known issue or has plagued others I can make a more informed decision.

I have used leankernel with WL and had no ill effects.

I'm actually a little disappointed. The last kernel I tried kept freezing up my tbolt no matter what settings I tried. I had hoped wl was the culprit...if not its my tbolt.so I guess no custom kernels in my future.
