Widgets freezing

Anybody have issues with their widgets freezing? I've removed them, restarted, reset them and they still freeze after awhile. Not sure what else to do. Any ideas or help would be awesome?

I usually notice my battery meter widget will freeze first, then all my others. (weather, sports center, google play music, data dashboard, google search, etc.) I thought it was maybe because I just updated ESPN sportscenter app. But I removed it and it still did it.

Welcome to Android Central! Are you rooted, running any custom ROMs? Do you know if your runtime is ART rather than Dalvik (not sure if that's even possible on your model)?

Not rooted, no roms. Not even sure what you're taking about on runtime lol.

It happened once before and I can't remember what caused it or what I did to make it stop freezing up.
