Wifi 5G router new?

Why is it that my note 3 keeps telling me it is connected? This is just plain crazy. Every router does it, but 5G does it to the point of insanity. Is it the radio being buggy or android?

It could be your advanced Wi-Fi settings. Check to see how it's set when your phone is in sleep mode. Mine is set to " always on" so it's not constantly reconnecting. Also, is the 5g router the only active router in your house as to avoid your phone ping ponging between routers?

No its not the only router. But I forget the network to connect to each router without the interference. This has never been an issue on any other phone. I also have 3 other phones in the house and guess what. The one that has the same issue is a Samsung galaxy S4, which is my wife's. The Nokia lumina 920 and iPhone 5s do not have issues with any routers any where. Seems it's limited to the android devices.
